C. M. UMEKAR, BORN IN 1963

BACKGROUND

Born on 13th November 1963 in the family of an agriculturist at Warud in Amravati District in Maharashtra State. Completed B.Arch (1991) in First Division from the College of Engineering Technology & Architecture, Akola. 

As a member of the University team won the bony winners trophy for Fine Arts in Youth Festival held at Mumbai (1987-88) and further secured the winner trophy at the Youth Festival held at Indore in 1988-89. He was the founder member of ‘VOLCANO GROUP’ of art devotees. Winner of second prize for this group for the best play performed at the Varerkar Natya Competition held at Belgum. Besides he was an active member of NASA. He participated in two National-level Gatherings of NASA student festivals at Hyderabad and Chennai. 

After practicing architecture for over 25 years C.M. Umekar completed Diploma in fine Arts as an academic venture in the art industry.

Today, the architectural studio has completed 30 years and the art studio 3 years. Both are based in Akola.
